Jehoshaphat son of Asa became king of Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, " First seek the counsel of the Lord" .

约沙法对王说：" 请你先求问耶和华。"

So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.

王和犹大王约沙法上基的拉末去了。

But Jehoshaphat asked, " Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of" ?

约沙法说：" 这里不是还有耶和华的先知，我们可求问他吗？"

But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, " First seek the counsel of the Lord" .

约沙法对王说：" 请你先求问耶和华。"

But in the third year Jehoshaphat king of Judah went down to see the king of Israel.

到第三年，犹大王约沙法下去见王。

So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.

王和犹大王约沙法上基的拉末去了。

Jehoshaphat became more and more powerful; he built forts and store cities in Judah

约沙法日渐强大，在犹大建造营寨和积货城。

Jehoshaphat was also at peace with the king of Israel.

约沙法与王和好。

Later, Jehoshaphat king of Judah made an alliance with Ahaziah king of Israel, whose ways were wicked.

此后，犹大王约沙法与王亚哈谢交好。亚哈谢行恶太甚。

Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-five years. His mother's name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi.

约沙法登基的时候，年三十五岁，在耶路撒冷作王二十五年。他母亲名叫阿苏巴，乃示利希的女儿。

But Jehoshaphat asked, " Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of" ?

约沙法说：" 这里不是还有耶和华的先知，我们可求问他吗？"

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, " Didn't I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad" ?

王对约沙法说：" 我岂没有告诉你，这人指着我所说的预言，不说吉语，单说凶言吗？"

Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.

约沙法便惧怕，定意寻求耶和华，在犹大全地宣告禁食。

At that time Ahaziah son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, " Let my men sail with yours, " but Jehoshaphat refused.

亚哈的儿子亚哈谢对约沙法说：" 容我的仆人和你的仆人坐船同去吧！" 约沙法却不肯。

Then Jehoshaphat rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the city of David his father. And Jehoram his son succeeded him as king.

约沙法与祖同睡，葬在大卫城他祖的坟地里。他儿子约兰接续他作王。

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, " Didn't I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad" ?

王对约沙法说：" 我岂没有告诉你，这人指着我所说的预言，不说吉语，单说凶言吗？"

The Lord established the kingdom under his control; and all Judah brought gifts to Jehoshaphat, so that he had great wealth and honor.

所耶和华坚定他的国，犹大众人给他进贡；约沙法大有尊荣资财。

And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.

这样，约沙法的国得享太平，因为　神赐他四境平安。

Jehoshaphat said, " The word of the Lord is with him" . So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

约沙法说：" 他必有耶和华的话。" 于是，王和约沙法，并东王，都下去见他。
