.Objective: To investigate the efficacy of Moist Exposed Burn Ointment (MEBO) in curing extraordinarily severe burn complicated with pertinacity severe hyperglycemia.
.Results The patients suffered from hyponatrcmia and hypochlovemia accompanied by alkalemia and light hyperglycemia on admission after primary treatment before evacuation to our hospital.
.It is caused in part by prolonged hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and results in dysfunction of one or both tibial nerves and a plantigrade stance (down on the hocks).
.In this case, though, it's a slower process since there's also an osmotic diuresis or increased urination from the hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar.
.As beta cells are lost and insulin levels decrease, glucose levels in the blood start to increase, and patients develop hyperglycemia, which leads to similar clinical signs that I mentioned before, like polyphagia, glycosuria, polyuria, and polydipsia.
